Do you know when to call your vet and take your dog for help? The general rule is, if you feel a sense of urgency, you have to call your vet right away! But other than that, here are good signals and telltale signs to go by!

1. Abdominal pain pain in dogs will usually exhibit in crying, vomiting, his abdomen being tender to the touch, him standing with his back arched and refusing food. If he shows any of these, take him to see the vet asap!

2.Uncontrollable bleeding. If your dog comes home with a bleeding cut, apply pressure to it right away. If the bleeding hasn’t subsided 5 to 10 minutes after, you have to get him to a doctor.

3.Broken bones- its easy to see broken bones in a dog. He will usually walk with a limp or stay off that leg completely. Broken bones tend to jut out unnaturally too.

4.Trouble breathing- If you notice your pup having difficulties taking in air, please do not hesitate to take him to the emergency room right away!

5.Car accident- if you’ve just gotten into a car accident with your dog, make sure he is attended to, even if he is not displaying signs that anyhting is wrong. There might be internal injuries that have not presented themseleves just yet.
