In his victory speech after winning the elections, Obama announced that his 2 daughters Malia and Sascha would get the puppy that there were promised to if he won.

Unfortunately, they may not be getting it for another 2 months. Michelle, the future first lady and their mom, has said that they have a deal with the girls to get the puppy after they have settled into the White House.
