On his first night, place his crate beside your bed and let him sleep there. Be sure he sees you from his crate. He will know that you are nearby in case he needs something. This is also a good way to establish your dog’s station in life.

Other simple ways to bond with your puppy include spending time with it. If you enjoy singing, sing with your puppy. Play catch, go for walks. If you want your puppy to stay away certain areas in your home, do not shut the doors, instead use baby fences so your dog and still see and hear you.
