You don’t want a sickly puppy, don’t you? You want a puppy that’s active, strong and healthy. That’s why, it’s best that from early on, you know what vitamins and nutrients your puppy needs! Here’s a basic list of your puppy’s nutritional requirements!

1. Protein- for your puppy to grow healthy muscles, skin, coat, he will need lots and lots of protein. Make sure you give him good, hearty, lean pieces of meat!

2.Calcium and Phosphorus- Puppies, like us, need string bones and teeth. And like us, they get these by taking in lots of calcium and phosphorous. Make sure your puppy drinks milk, like you too!

3.Omega Fatty Acids- Build up your puppy’s immune system by giving him a diet rich in Omega Fatty Acids. Fish, like tuna is rich in it, but make sure there are no more bones! You don’t want puppy to choke!

Make sure to give your puppy servings that are just right for his size. You don’t want him becoming overweight either! Obesity in dogs could also lead to all sorts of complications! Also, make sure that your puppy stays away from chocolate and shrimp! Although these things taste good to us people, they cold be poisonous for your puppy, or he may be allergic to them!

When you follow this list to a T, you’ll definitely have a healthy happy puppy who will follow you around and will make everything just a little bit better!

Kids can really benefit from getting dogs. A puppy can teach children the value of responsibility. A dog will also provide a child companionship, protection and loyalty.

However, some dogs are not really suited to young kids. Children can be rowdy and playful at times, and some breeds do not stand up well for this kind of activity.

In getting a puppy for your child, It is best to get those breeds that are naturally drawn to children. Here are Puppy Help Line’s recommendations:

1. Labrador Retreiver- This is my first choice for a kid’s dog. Labradors adore children. They’re very mellow, and are always up for running, jumping and playing. A labrador can lie still for hours, watching over children. They’re very loyal too.

2.Fox Terriers- Fox terrieirs are also ideal for children. They are mid sized, and can work well in smaller spaces. The Fox Terrier is loyal and smart and can amuse kids to hours on end, It is a tame breed and respond well to commands. They are also very affectionate and playful.

3.Saint Bernard- Saint Bernards have gained admiration for being extremely gentle, friendly and very tolerant of little kids. They are loyal and always want to please their masters. They’re very intelligent and training them isn;t difficult. They also make for excellent watchdogs

To avoid chewing on your most beloved slippers, shoes, furniture and other stuff at home, it is best to come prepared! Set your puppy up with many different toys from the get go, so there are other things to amuse him and for him to play with besides your personal belongings! This way, you’ll keep your puppy happy, yourself happy and your fottwear and furniture intact.

Here are a few fun suggestions to keep your puppy occupied:

1. Ball- balls are a great way for your puppy to learn how to fetch. Their bouncing and rolling will also amuse your dog and keep him entertained for hours on end. Choose a ball that will not deflate, and can stand up to your puppy’s gnawing. Make sure the ball isn’t too small that it will choke your puppy, or too big to be maneuvered!

2.Squeaky toys- a squeaky toy will surprise your puppy and sharpen his senses. He will get the sense that the toy is interacting with him because of the squeaks. In selecting a squeaky toy, make sure the toy is secure and doesn’t have parts that are easily removable!

3.Plush toys- Like little kids, puppies need their stuffed animals too! Plush toys are perfect for puppies to snuggle and cuddle up with. The puppy will feel less lonely as the plush toy will seem like another friend to keep him company. Choose plush toys in bright and happy colors.

Any of these suggestions will surely make your pup happy and content. Remember to get him these toys early so he or she doesn’t even discover your shoes and furniture!

So you’ve gotten your new puppy and you are having problems on what you should name your new friend. Here are a couple of tips on how to decide on your new puppy’s name:

Use a website
There are numerous websites on the internet with databases dedicated to puppy names which are divided into numerous categories, and also provide meanings behind the names and their specific origins.

The Puppy’s Traits
Animals, like humans have specific traits, temperaments, and attitudes. They can be cheerful, loyal, mischievous, and hyperactive or it could be based on looks, like if they have specific types of spots and markings. Your puppy’s personal traits can
be a good basis for their name.

People or Popular Figures
You could name your new best friend after someone you admire be it a celebrity or
a person you know. They could be exactly the same as the person you know, if they were a human.

Childhood Cartoons
Your childhood cartoons and inspirations could be the basis for your puppy’s moniker. Think of how cool it would be to have a dog named Odie. It will definitely bring fond memories of your childhood back!

Whatever you decide to name your puppy, I’m sure it’s going to be great. Just make sure to keep it uncomplicated enough so your puppy doesnt end up puzzled and confused. Now you’re all set to let the name game begin!

Take this checklist with you,so you don’t forget anything and pick up all of puppy’s needs in one stop!

Here are Puppy Help Line’s top recommendations:

1. Puppy needs a good comfy place to sleep- Pick out a basket that is spacious and cozy it up with a warm and soft cushion.

2. Puppy’s mommy isn’t there anymore, so it needs a good blanket to keep it warm at night. Choose one that is warm, soft and breathable, so puppy can snuggle to his or her little heart’s delight

3.Bowls and dishes- Puppy needs a place to put his food and water. Invest in sturdy and durablle water bowls and dishes that can withstand puppy’s playful moods and chewing escapades.

4. A collar and leash- Puppy has to take his daily walks. Keep him safe and always within your reach with a good and sturdy leash. Personalize puppy’s persoality with a smart looking collar

5.Food- Puppy needs his sustenance to grow healthy and strong. It is best to avoid feeding puppy table food as dogs have different nutritional needs from us humans. Get puppy either dry dog food or canned ones. In time, you’ll be able to tell which one puppy likes best!

Okay, so you’ve passed the first hurdle. You’re ready to take on the responsibility of caring for a puppy? You have enough space for a puppy at home? And you’ve figured that you can afford to keep a puppy comfortable!

Now, it’s time to pick out your new puppy! There are also tips to follow to make sure you and your new puppy are a good match! Here are Puppyhelpline’s:

1. Consider the size of the puppy when it’s full grown.- Sure, the puppy now may look small, but depending on their breed, some puppies may grow to be humongous! Consider this fact very carefully when selecting your puppy. Do you think you can handle a big dog or is a small one more manageable for you? Do you think your home is ideal for a big breed or would it fare better with those toy sized. For your guide, You can ask dog owners, and vets on the size of the puppy when it is all grown up!

2.Consider the dog’s temperament- Some dog breeds are friendlier than others. Other’s are more sociable, like kids more. Still, other dogs prefer active lifestyles, while others are lazier and prefer to lounge around more. Think about the environment you’re bringing the puppy home to, and your own temperament. Make sure it is a good match. You can research on the internet for what kinds of temperaments certain breeds have.

3.Consider the time you have for grooming- Some dog breeds are furrier or hairier than others. This means that they need more time and effort in grooming. The less hairy dogs are more maintenance free. Do you enjoy grooming and dressing up your dog? Or would you rather have one that is less fussy? Think about this before choosing your furry companion.

Without a doubt, puppies are cute, and adorable and irresistable! That’s why, when presented with an opportunity, its so hard to resist the temptation of taking one home!

Before you do that thought, wait a minute! Think! Ask yourself- are you really ready to get a new puppy?

Here are important things to consider before even taking a trip to your friendly neighborhood pet store.

1. Do you really have the time for this new responsibility?- Although puppies look like the cutest stuffed animals, they’re actually not! They’re breathing living creatures that need a lot of care and attention to flourish. Take a look at your present lifestyle right now and determine if you really have time to spare for this new undertaking. Will you be there to always play with the puppy? Take walks with it? Feed it? This is the most important consideration!

2.Do you have the space for your new puppy? Puppies, although small at first, will grow bigger. Does your present home have the space to accommodate puppy? Will he have room to rest, to lounge, to play and run around? If not, this could present an endless world of frustration for you and your dog!

3.Do you have the finances to take care of the puppy?- The reality is puppies cost money! From food, toys, vaccinations and whatnot, the expenses could really add up. If you’re barely making ends meet, a puppy might not be such a good idea as it will drain your resources even further!

Please take the time to consider these questions. If you answer yes to all of them, then go ahead, get your puppy. But if you have your doubts, it’s always a better idea to wait for a better time. You won’t regret it in the end!
