Your puppy needs his own personal crate unless it has its kennel outside the house. But crates are better especially for puppies since it can also be used to train them into becoming more obedient. What more, you will need crates when you go traveling with your pup. Only dogs in a crate are allowed to stay in hotels and planes.

Remember that crates are never to be used as punishment to confine your pup. This will make it afraid of entering the crate. Teach your pet to love its crate, here are a few tips:

· 1. Put small amounts of food inside the crate. You can also feed the dog inside, or if he doesn’t follow, give him food near it.

· 2. When the dog enters, praise him for it so it will be encouraged to do it more often. Never force the pup because it will be afraid next time.

3. At the start of crate training, do not leave your dog alone. Stay with him and only leave him inside for a short time.
