Without a doubt, puppies are cute, and adorable and irresistable! That’s why, when presented  with an opportunity, its so hard to resist the temptation of taking one home!

Before you do that thought, wait a minute! Think! Ask yourself- are you really ready to get a new puppy?

Here are important things to consider before even taking a trip to your friendly neighborhood pet store.

1. Do you really have the time for this new responsibility?- Although puppies look like the cutest stuffed animals, they’re actually not! They’re breathing living creatures that need a lot of care and attention to flourish. Take a look at your present lifestyle right now and determine if you really have time to spare for this new undertaking. Will you be there to always play with the puppy? Take walks with it? Feed it? This is the most important consideration!

2.Do you have the space for your new puppy? Puppies, although small at first, will grow bigger. Does your present home have the space to accommodate puppy? Will he have room to rest, to lounge, to play and run around? If not, this could present an endless world of frustration for you and your dog!

3.Do you have the finances to take care of the puppy?- The reality is puppies cost money! From food, toys, vaccinations and whatnot, the expenses could really add up. If you’re barely making ends meet, a puppy might not be such a good idea as it will drain your resources even further!

Please take the time to consider these questions. If you answer yes to all of them, then go ahead, get your puppy. But if you have your doubts, it’s always a better idea to wait for a better time. You won’t regret it in the end!
